Unboxing: K-ON!! – Season 2 Part 1 & Part 2 (Limited Edition Blu-ray)

K-ON!! has often been requested for a Blu-ray release within the UK and while our UK Anime Distributors are willing to give in to this demand for the TV Series distributors in other countries, namely Sentai Filmworks in America and Madman Entertainment in Australia, opted to release the entire series on Blu-ray. Today however i will be taking a closer look at the Australian, Madman Entertainment, release of K-ON!! Season 2 Part 1 and K-ON!! Season 2 Part 2 on Blu-ray.

Ironically enough there’s nothing really special of either release; as Part 1 contains the first half of the series, while Part 2 contains the remaining episodes – each of which are presented in English and Japanese audio with a handful of bonus content such as trailers and textless songs. Of course some highlights of this Australian Blu-ray release is the clever use of artwork as both sets feature alternate artwork inside (artwork which was used on the American release) and each disc features a singular character showing off their cassette tape.

The artbox however is limited to the ‘Limited Edition’ variation of Part 2 and while its not as colourful as Season 1 it is of strong sturdy chipboard and as such won’t get damaged as easily as the carded sleeves UK Distributors sometimes tend to use.
