Anime Limited have today teased fans with a first glimpse at the final coloured prototype version of the resin designed box that will hold the Fullmetal Alchemist Blu-ray set; and it looks amazing.

For those unaware the Ultimate Edition of Fullmetal Alchemist, which is currently available to pre-order for £149.99 from AllTheAnime and Zavvi, contains the complete series on Blu-ray – which is seperated into two half-season Collector’s Edition sets – packaged within a resin box that mimics ‘The Gate’ found within the anime itself.

So far only a concept image of ‘The Gate’ has been shown, as illustrated above; but today via a new blog post on the Anime Limited site reveals a final prototype version of the box; and as you can see from the images below it looks superb.

The Ultimate Edition set will not only contain the two collector’s edition sets, which will be sold seperately next year; but it will also contain an artbook that is said to feature all sorts of unique artwork from the series and unlike past artbooks it will be considerably larger; as illustrated in the picture below.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Ultimate Edition seems to be Anime Limited’s most ambitious Blu-ray release to date and so far it seems the hard work has been paying it; but while it looks nice in pictures it will be interesting to see the final version first hand.
