Anime Limited Confirm a Selection of Release Date Amendments

As of late Anime Limited have been relatively strong with a successful line-up of releases, with most recently being Aldnoah Zero – Season 1 and Sword Art Online II – Part 4; however not all titles manage to release on time and today as part of their weekly newswire the UK distributor is addressing some of these delays to keep those concerned at bay. Strictly speaking a selection of ‘tentative’ release date titles have now been given a more ‘realistic’ release date; some of which are long overdue.

To start with The Empire of Corpses, which is given a tentative date for July, has now been given an 8th August 2016. The reason for the change was due to a delay in production of the steelbook case, which can be seen below, but as it was a tentative ‘unconfirmed’ date then this particular release doesn’t feel like much of a delay.

The second title on Anime Limited’s list of release date changes is non-other-than everyones favourite FREE! – Eternal Summer- which is of course the second season of FREE! with an English Dub produced by FUNimation Entertainment. At the moment approvals for the product, such as packaging and BBFC rating, are currently in the process of being done but Anime Limited hopes to have the set, which will contain all 13 episodes and the OVA, by the end of august; specifically speaking the 29th August 2016.

Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad, a title which was originally announced nearly a year ago, is another title which has received a delay. No date has been mentioned but Anime Limited are working on the title and things are moving forward; unlike the other ‘FUNimation licensed title’ Nerima Daikon Brothers which still seems to be AWOL.

The final release mention was for the Makoto Shinkai Twin Pack (Voices of a Distant Star & The Place Promised in our Early Days) which confirms that the set will not be out this month and that a new date will be announced in the future; in the meantime however approvals for the artwork and packaging and being processed. Interestingly enough that’s not all; as the distributor went on to confirm that the “She and Her Cat” short animated feature will be on the disc Voices of a Distant Star  as well as a selection of trailers and promotional content and 5.1 Surround Sound for both films.

In short; Anime Limited we just pointing out that a selection of titles ‘expected’ to be released in July will not be coming out anytime soon due to work still needing to be done on them but interestingly enough I am more concerned about the Mai Mai Miracle kickstarter campaign which, all things considered, is two years behind schedule.
