Unboxing: Baccano! – The Complete Series (Collector’s Edition) [UK]

With Anime Limited releasing Baccano! as a standard edition Blu-ray I thought it would be fun to look back at the Collectors Edition variation and show you guys you could potentially be missing out on if you opted to get the standard Blu-ray as opposed to tracking down the Collectors Edition variation; especially seeing as they are near enough the same price.

To start with this Collectors Edition Blu-ray release of Baccano! contains the entire TV series, which consists of 13 episodes, and 3 OVA styled episodes which bring the franchise to its conclusion spread across three Blu-ray disc. Just like with the previously released DVD release by Manga Entertainment UK this Blu-ray version comes with both English and Japanese audio languages as well as a selection of bonus content. If you’ve seen Baccano! before then you will already have a clear understanding of what to expect as the only difference is the updated High Definiton visuals. So what’s so special about this release? Well it’s all down to the Collectors Edition packaging and presentation.

Unlike past releases Baccano gives that ‘high quality’ vibe with its stylish looking chipbaord artbox and digipack design that just gets better the more you look at it. For instance there is a natural blend between the disc artwork and packaging that just fits well with me and interestingly enough the best has still yet to come. One highlight of this Collectors Edition release is the included booklet; a book which highlights various artwork and information about the series with high-quality materials and as a result brings a nice conclusion to this collectors edition set; as you would watch the show and then read the book.

Overall this Collectors Edition release of one of my favourite Anime Limited releases; and while the sticker sheet holding the information of the product can easily be ripped and thrown away the presentation of everything else is pretty much spot on.
