MVM Entertainment To Release Original Fate / Stay Night TV Series on Blu-ray

It’s the news that many Fate fans have been waiting for but MVM Entertainment have ‘secretly’ revealed, through their online store Anime-on-Line, that they will be releasing the original Fate Stay Night series on Blu-ray later this year.

That exciting news doesn’t stop there; as the template box-art for the set, which uses the same artwork used on the American ‘Complete Series’ Blu-ray release of Fate Stay Night, suggests that the 24 episodes will be spread over 3 Blu-ray Discs which suggests (or pretty much confirms) that this UK Blu-ray release will feature the improved 1080p visuals and re-made chapter points.

For those unfamiliar when Sentai Filmworks, the American Distributor for Fate Stay Night, released the series on Blu-ray it was released in two half season sets in 1080i resolution – additionally the chapter markings were not encoded on the disc and as such each episode only had one chapter.

As usually MVM Entertainment have not denied, or confirmed, the existence of this license but we suspect it was a title that should have been announced at the weekend but got overlooked. In any event the original Fate Stay Night series will be making its way to Blu-ray within the UK later this year.
