Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Announced for Western Release


Dragon Ball Z will once again be making its return to the PS4, Xbox One and PC; as today publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, the sequel to the previously released Dragon Ball Xenoverse, will be making its way to Europe at some point in the future; as Hervé Hoerdt, VP of Marketing & Digital at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe, explains.

As the franchise is celebrating its 30th Anniversary, Dragon Ball games are a fan-favorite within BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment’s huge videogame portfolio and DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 will surely build upon that illustrious legacy. The first DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE game was a massive success and allowed millions of players to fulfil one of their dreams: have their own avatar and character in the DRAGON BALL universe! With DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2, we’re working closely with the team at DIMPS to push this experience to new heights.”

Details on the game remain relatively tight lipped at hte moment but judging from a countdown website that appeared before the announcement, as well as the games announcement trailer, we can expect players will be once again tasked with protecting the Drgaon Ball Z timeline from an evil threat; except this time more battles will be included, such as those with Bardock, Zarbon and Dadoria, as well as the possible inclusion of storylines and battles from the Dragon Ball Z Movies.

The inclusion of movies have yet to be officially confirmed but the countdown site featured Japanese posters from past Dragon Ball Z movies, along with a packshot for Drgaon Ball Xenoverse, before the announcement went live; additionally the announcement trailer shows a brief scene from the Dragon Ball Z OVA film”History of Trunks”. In any event; Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is coming to the PS4, XB1 and PC and you can check out the announcment trailer below.
