Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden Patch Introduces New Characters and Gameplay Modes

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden may have been released last year, 16th October 2016 to be exact, but Bandai Namco Entertainment will soon be releasing a patch (tomorrow to be exact) which introduces a selection of new features; most notably online play – which was lacking from the inital release – and brand new characters taken from Dragon Ball Heroes, Dragon Ball Xenoverse and the new TV Anime Dragon Ball Super.
To start with this update, which was previously released in Japan several weeks ago, introduces several new Z-Assist characters to the line-up with new characters including Champa and Goku (Farmer Outfit) from Dragon Ball Super as well as Super Saiyan 4 Gohan and Super Saiyan 4 Broly from the ‘what if’ storylines of the Japanese Dragon Ball Heroes arcade game. The male bad guy from Dragon Ball Xenoverse has also been added to the game as a Z-Assist character.
To me the inclusions of these ‘unique’ characters are more noteworthy than the inclusion of an online multiplayer matchmaking and training mode; both of which were absent from the games original release last year. The final new addition is a survival mode; whereby players battle a continus selection of characters until they are defeated.
It’s not often that games, especially a Nintendo 3DS title, receive such an extensive update to the game – but i for one am glad that it has been released and, more importantly, brought to us here in the west. Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden is now available for the Nintendo 3DS and the patch can be downloaded through the Nintendo eShop.
