FUNimation Now Announces New UK Launch Date

Following on from weeks of license announcements, and the news that the subscription-based-streaming service would launch during March 2016, the american anime giant, FUNimation, have now announced that their UK Streaming service FUNimation Now will launch on the 7th April 2016 and that those joing the service would also receive a 30-day FREE trial of everything that the service has to offer.

The FunimationNow site is nearly complete, but we’re still doing some work with our partners to get it in a better place to introduce it to you. We apologize for the delay but we’ll officially be launching Thursday, April 7.

We want to give you the opportunity to get an inside look at what we’re doing, which is why we’re going to give you a sneak peek at the beta version of our site. We’d love for you to share your feedback and suggestions with us so we can incorporate those in future updates. Because of this unexpected delay, you’ll also be able to check out the site and all of our shows, FREE of charge, for a full 30 days once the site goes live.

So; starting from the 7th April 2016 UK Anime fans will be able to subscribe to the video-on-demand streaming service and enjoy 30 days of free anime; after which users will be forced to either cancel the subscription or pay one of two different subscription methods (all content and simulcasts in Japanese with English Subtitles for £3.99 or everything in either Japanese & English (where possible) for £6.99).

In any event its nice to see FUNimation UK cancel its relatively long silence and announce a new UK date; as a fair few of us anime fans were getting slightly worried about the lack of communication. Eitherway you can check out the hype reel trailer below which illustrates some of the shows you can expect to receive on the service.
