Touhou Genso Rondo Announced for European PS4 Release

Publisher NIS America have announced they will be releasing the bullet-shooter styled game Touhou Genso Rondo (working title) onto the PS4 as a digital download within Europe and America later this year.

Developed by CUBETYPE Touhou Genso Rondo is a shooter, similar to the likes of Deathsmiles and Ikuraga, thats set within the Touhou universe and it’s a game that will feature both an engaging story mode as well as fast-paced bullet dodging arcade fun. This particular version of the game will be a full High Definition remaster of the Japanese-exclusive PC game with newer HD visuals, a complete UI overall, rebalanced gameplay mechanics and an updated single-player experience such as an all-new boss battle rush mode and extended scenarios.
The news comes from their Press Event earlier in the week which saw the publisher also announcing the western release of Psycho Pass: Mandatory Happiness, which we posted here, onto the PS4 and PS Vita.

Touhou Genso Rondo, which is its current ‘working title’, will be released as a digital download onto the PS4 in the near future; with more details expected to be revealed in the coming months.

This one, I’m really interested in since I am a big fan of Touhou Project the fact its translated is even better, what surprises and annoy me the most is that there’s no physical edition considering how popular and widespread the Touhou fan base is in the world.

    • Scott says:

To some the Touhou Project may be relatively popular; but to others its not that well-known. Furthermore the type of game this is it won’t appeal to everyone so a digital release is a way of ‘testing’ the waters to see how the market reacts.
