It’s been quite a while since Anime Limited announced that they had acquried the distribution licenses for Fuse – Memoirs of the Hunter Girl and Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo; but today the UK distributor is revealing what one can expect from these upcoming Collectors Edition Blu-rays release due in the near future.
As explained in a recent newswire update on the Anime Limited website Fuse – Memoirs of the Hunter Girl will come in a rigid chipboard artbox with an o-card around it and a 36-page artbook on the inside; which is similar to how the collectors edition of Patema Inverted was released. It’s also worth pointing out that this release is in Japanese with English subtitles; as an English Dub has never been produced.
Alongside this news Anime Limited went on to reveal their plans for the upcoming Blu-ray release of Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo. For starters the entire 24-episode season will be inside a ‘steelbook’ case – which isn’t something that Anime Limited tend to do – and the packaging will retain it’s french logo and presentation. The reasoning behind this is because the series is set in France but i can’t help but feel that it is to cut production costs down, as the French division of Anime Limited will also be releasing the same set.
It’s worth nothing that Gankutsuou will come with an o-card around the steelbook case, which will have English variation of the cover – further proving my point of cutting costs down – and the series itself will be available in both English and Japanese with English subtitles.
Further details surrounding both titles will be revealed in the coming weeks; but both titles are available to pre-order right now from numerous online retailers.
