Unboxing: Kill La Kill – Box 2 (Collectors Edition Blu-ray) [UK]

Kill La Kill – Box 2, otherwise known as Kill la Kill – Part 2, is another Anime Limited release that received the Collectors Edition upon its release and yet after months of being available it still receives a hefty price tag; but is it worth it?
In my eyes no; but thats just because i’m not a huge fan of the Kill La Kill franchise; however considering what you get for the price than its not all bad. Starting with the packaging Anime Limited’s release of Kill La Kill – Box 2 comes housed inside a chipboard box that contains artwork on both sides; the insides however contain a 200+ page book and a carded casing for the Blu-ray discs. It’s pretty much the same as the previous volumes with the added exception of different artwork and episode count.
Despite how the packaging looks it still manages to fail; for starters the artwork wrapping around the carded box hasn’t been aligned properly so you have a few milimetres of grey band where is should be blue from side to side. The carded sleeve on the inside, and artbook, as nice as they are upon sliding it into the carded chipboard packaging they can bend and be torn. This is of course one of the pitfalls of owning a collectors piece but at least it looks nice sat on the shelf.
All in all Kill La Kill – Box 2 is pretty much as you’d expect it to be; and while the potentially ‘excessive’ price tag may put some people off the fact is that we are getting two volumes (and an artbook) as opposed to one volume – for a slightly lower price – that other countries received.
You can see our full unboxing in the video below; but in the meantime Kill La Kill – Box 2 is now available as a Collectors Edition DVD and Collectors Edition Blu-ray.
