It may be unpopular, and the title may make your tongue twist but, The Legend of the Legendary Heroes isn’t that bad of a show; it’s got violence, its got magic and it’s got lots of other cool entertaining merits as well. Of course i’m not hear to talk about the show; i’m here to unbox it, or more specifically unbox the Australian release – and today i’ll be making double the trouble with two unboxing videos.

Lets start at the beginning; when FUNimation released The Legend of the Legendary Heroes in America it was available as a Blu-ray / DVD Combo Pack with both sets of discs being region free in two seperate parts. Shortly after this Australian licensed the show for an individual DVD and Blu-ray release using pretty much the same packaging and cover layout and – more amusingly – the exact same discs. Thats right; if you purchase this set in America or Australia the discs are exactly the same – which is something Madman tend to do quite often (such as Sengoku Basara Collection).

Amusing facts out of the way The Legend of the Legendary Heroes Collection 1 and Collection 2, which is what they are known as in Australia, are pretty basic and standard releases. Its the same packaging design – for the front and spine – to the US release and only the back has been ‘slightly tweaked’ to madmans style. As mentioned the discs are exactly the same, which results in the same cheap ‘singular colour’ design as opposed to full colour disc.

Despite this negativity there is some good points to had; for starters picking up a AUS version of The Legend of the Legendary Heroes can be cheaper than picking up the US Release; but it all comes down to preference. All-in-all The Legend of the Legendary Heroes Collection 1 and Collection 2 is a standard product in a standard box; nothing special but considering the price its well worth the punt (if you don’t get hit by customs).
