If you follow Koei Tecmo Europe through their social media channels then you may have noticed them teasing an upcoming announcement; well today the curtain was lifted and the distributor announced that they are working with Omega Force to release an action-based Attack on Titan videogame.
Details are pretty much non-existent; but we do know that it will be developed by Omega Force, which is the same development team which brought us the One Piece: Pirate Warriors and Dynasty Warriors Gundam franchises, and that Koei Tecmo are hoping to release it worldwide next year onto the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.
It’s all exciting news; and it seems Hisashi Koinuma, President of Koei Tecmo Games and head of the “Attack on Titan” game project, is keen to share it.
“I am very happy to reveal we have started developing a new action game based on the phenomenally successful “Attack on Titan”! Having evolved from a manga/anime series to an internationally recognised brand, we were enchanted by the opportunity to create our own take on humanity’s last stand against these overwhelmingly powerful beings, the Titans.
Although there is still a long wait until this game is released in 2016, our studios are already pouring all of their passion and excitement into it and we hope to reveal more information soon!
In the meantime, prepare for battle! The Titans are coming.”
It’s expected that further details surrounding this new Attack on Titan game will be released in the coming months; but i guess the biggest concern is that will the game be released as Attack on Titan or will it have to change its name like the recently released Nintendo 3DS game by Atlus. I guess only time will tell; but for the time being you can check out the teaser trailer below.
