Unboxing: Fairy Tail – Part 12 (Blu-ray / DVD Combo Pack) [USA]

The twelfth instalment into the American Blu-ray / DVD Combo Pack release of Fairy Tail has a sense of ‘rinse and repeat’ to it; as other than the character artwork being slightly different, and of course the episode content being different, everything else remains the same; but never-the-less i’ll be unboxing it.

As with all Fairy Tail releases this twelfth instalment comes in a standard DVD-sized case with a windowed carded-sleeve over it; and on the inside we have four discs – two dvd and two blurays, with another selection of episodes presented in both High Definition and Standard Definition. Once again the outer packaging artwork and presentation is simplistic and all matches perfectly; but there does seem to be a problem as for whatever reason the carded sleeve has been printed incorrectly and features a darker colour than what it should be.

Its not just the carded sleeve that has issues as well as there are more disappointing factors on the inside of this set. For starters the disc artwork is non-existent, but it has been for awhile, and the DVD case itself feels rather flimsy. On the plus side the reversable artwork sleeve features some nice artwork (as always) as well as a list of episodes contained within this release. In terms of extras then its pretty much the same as before, with a selection of trailers and textless songs being bundled in with the episodes to round-out the experience.

Other than the artwork Fairy Tail – Part 12 is pretty much a rinse and repeat of past instalments and while i might sound negative this is actually a good thing as it least it provides some continuity on the shelf. Fairy Tail – Part 12 is now available within America.
