Following on from the success of his previous two kickstarter campaigns Kenji Itoso, a producer known for his work on Yu-Gi-Oh! and Santa’s Company, has today launched his latest Kickstarter campaign; introducing Coluboccoro.
The story of Coluboccoro will follow a young girl named Suzu as she stumbles upon the forest spirit Coluboccoro; Together they take to the skies visiting an unseen land where a grand adventure and mystery unfolds.
Unlike Kenji Itoso’s other projects Coluboccoro will be animated using cel-animation and, more interestingly, by himself; the only help will come in the form of voice-actors who will lend their voices for the few characters seen in the film and even this is limited to two voice actors.
In regards to the Kickstarter Kenji Itoso is looking to secure $38,000 in funding so that this animated short can be produced and then released onto DVD and Blu-ray. A Current run-time has not been mentioned, but if the campaign reaches $100,000 it will be ‘extended’ to 30 minutes.
As always supporters of the Kickstarter will receive rewards depending on how much they pledge; for instance digital copies of the film will be given away to those pledging $25 whereas physical copies of the Blu-ray and DVD will be awarded to those who pledge $60.
Unlike other Japanese-orientated-Kickstarter campaigns this one is open worldwide; and as such residents within the UK and Europe can pledge their support for the project and receive the rewards. Full details on the kickstarter project can be found on the official kickstarter page.
