Anime Limited Store To Distribute Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origins Within UK

Anime Limited have today announced that they will be acting as the UK Distributor for the upcoming Blu-ray release of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origins, or more precisely Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origins – Volume 1: Blue Eyed Casval.
Unfortunately this is where it gets complicated; unlike traditional releases Anime Limited will not be distributing the film into UK retailers, such as Amazon, Zavvi and HMV; instead fans will have to buy it directly from the Anime Limited Store. The reason for this is because Anime Limited will be distributing the Limited Edition Japanese Blu-ray release of the film; a film which will not only feature both English and Japanese audio options but will be completely region free as well.
The first volume, entitled Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origins – Volume 1: Blue Eyed Casval, will be Limited Edition bundle priced at £69.99 and will soon be available to pre-order from the Anime Limited Store. The Limited Edition bundle will include the following content:
- Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin I: Blue Eyed Casval Blu-ray disc (73 mins approx)
- Storage box illustrated by Yoshikazu Yashuhiko (original writer and illustrator of Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin)
- Storyboards & Setting Art Book (296 pages)
- Japanese booklets
- Sleeve (O-card) illustrated by Yoshikazuk Yasuhiko
- Trailers
- TV Commercial
Pre-orders will only be valid until the 13th April 2015; afterwhich the product will be removed from sale and then distribution will begin ahead of its 24th April 2015 release date. Furthermore this £70 price tag includes both postage and custom fees; so its the only price you’ll pay for the product.
Those wishing to watch the episode/movie can do so digitally through video-on-demand services, such as Daisuki, on the 24th February 2015; however the Blu-ray disc version above won’t be released until the end of April.
I’ve never seen any Gundam before but was thinking of getting in to it. This seems a little pricey though, for one 60 min episode and minimal disc extras. And the box looks massive…will there be mgetting 4:45 trainassive boxes for all four OVA? Any idea if the printed material will be translated ot is it literally only the episode itself that is?
Sorry…damned messed up phone typing…what I meant to type was, will there be massive boxes for all 4 ova? I am not sure I am comfortable giving up that much money and space to 4 episodes.
