Kids on the Slope was one of MVM Entertainment’s first Blu-ray releases and while we reviewed the DVD version back in 2013 we’ve never looked at the Blu-ray; well thats about to change as today i’ll be taking a look at it.
Just as you’d expect the Blu-ray release of Kids on the Slope features the same artwork and disc content as that of the DVD version, whereby 12 episodes are included over two discs and a selection of bonus materials, such as interviews and japanese promotional materials, are also included. In retrospect its exactly the same just in High Definition; but depsite the similarities its the HD-Native picture quality thate makes the series worth while.
What is amusing, and a common theme with MVM Entertainment released Blu-rays, is that the discs feature an Australian rating logo as well asa Logo for Hanabee. The reason for the inclusion of these logos is because Hanabee, which is an Australian anime distributor, shared authoring costs with MVM Entertainment. It’s unconfirmed but if you were to purchase this set in Australia you would find the same discs (and disc artwork) but a different packaging design. This aside the disc artwork, and inside sleeve artwork, are both impressive as each disc features a main character from the series while the inside sleeve artwork lists the episodes included with the set as well an artistic drawing of the main characters.
Kids on the Slope is one of those shows thats worth watching; but if you are wanting the ‘optimal’ viewing experience then i’d recomend checking out the Blu-ray, especially this release by MVM Entertainment. Kids on the Slope – The Complete Collection is now available on Blu-ray and DVD within the UK.
