One Piece: Movie 8 Blu-ray Listed for January 2015 Release

An individual Blu-ray, and DVD, listing for One Piece: Movie 8 – Adventures in Alabasta has recently appeared on Anime-On-Line with a release date of 5th January 2015; thus suggesting that Manga Entertainment UK will be releasing the film on it’s own as originally mentioned several months ago.

When Manga Entertainment UK announced that they had acquired the distribution rights to all nine original One Piece Movies it was explained that they would be released in three collection sets, with 3 movies per set – something which has recently been achieved. In addition to this the eighth One Piece movie, The Desert Princess and the Pirates – Adventures in Alabasta, would be getting its own stand-a-lone DVD (and possibly Blu-ray) just like it did in America.

Well it turns out the eighth One Piece movie will be getting its own Blu-ray (and DVD) release within the UK; but more importantly it’s expected that this ‘individual’ release of the film will contain the original 5.1 English Surround Sound audio track, an audio option which was absent from the recent ‘movie collection’ release, as well as any additional bonus content that came with the original american blu-ray release.

We expect that Manga Entertainment UK will confirm further details in the coming weeks; but at leats we’ve got another “Blu-ray” to look forward to next year.
