London MCM Comic Con October 2014 Anime License Round-Up

It may have been another busy weekend at this years London MCM Comic Con but when it comes to Anime License Announcements then it was pretty much non-existent; that is unless you are MVM Entertainment.

Anyway the traditional ‘announcement panel’ was replaced with a simple Q&A session, mainly because the announcements were made online throughout the weekend and because the head honchos for Manga UK and MVM UK were busy doing other tasks; either way the complete license announcement throughout the entire MCM Comic Con weekend is as follows:

All The Anime:

Baccano! (Blu-ray)
Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo (Blu-ray & DVD)
Short Peace (Blu-ray & DVD)

All The Anime are hoping to create an ‘Ultimate Edition’ of Baccano; however this all depends on the amount of materials they receive from Aniplex; meanwhile Short Peace is the ‘same’ video content as that released by Bandai Namco Games earlier this year however it will come with an English Dub audio track (which was produced by Sentai Filmworks).

Manga Entertainment UK:

Samurai Bride (Blu-ray & DVD)
Yu-Gi-Oh! (DVD)
Fairy Tail – Collection 3 (Blu-ray & DVD)
Fairy Tail – Part 9 (Blu-ray & DVD)

Samurai Bride is the sequel to Samurai Girls, a series which was released by KAZE through Manga Entertainment several years ago, and is expected to be released in late January; Additionally, as we previously mentioned, Manga UK have licensed the ‘entire’ original Yu-Gi-Oh! series and the first instalment, Season 1, will be available on the 17th November 2014 while the second season will be available in March next year.

While it’s not a ‘new’ license announcement Manga UK did reveal that Fairy Tail – Collection 3, which consists of Parts 5 and 6 in a single set, will be released on the 19th January 2015 where as Fairy Tail – Part 9 will be available in Q1 of 2015; both of which will be available on Blu-ray and DVD.

MVM Entertainment UK:

Battle Girls: Time Paradox
Infinite Stratos 2
Kamisama Dolls
Michiko & Hatchin
No Game No Life

All of the above titles announced by MVM Entertainment will be released during Q1 2015; however the distributor have yet to clarify which titles will be available on DVD or Blu-ray. We assume that Otorimonogatari and Koimonogatari will be available on both DVD and Blu-ray, as previous releases in the franchise have also been released in both formats. MVM Entertainment have promised that pre-order links for all titles will be available later this week.

It seems MVM Entertainment won the ‘licensing round’ this time; but we suspect that Manga UK will be revealing some new license aquistions in the coming months – otherwise what else are we going to watch in 2015.
