If you’ve been eagerly awaiting for us to do an unboxing video for Accel World – Part 2 then fear not as that’s exactly what we are going to do today; alternative if you would like to know our thoughts on this UK release then why not check out our Review.

Released in July 2014, Accel World – Part 2 features the remaining 12 episodes of the series on two Blu-ray discs and from the offset the collection looks ‘incredibly’ nice; especially for an MVM Entertainment release. It looks nice because the artwork (both on the sleeve and disc) all match-up and are presentable, something which isn’t usually found in MVM Releases. In terms of it’s outward appearence, the impressive artwork, clear informative text and netural appearence its a great set; however when it comes to disc content then it’s quite a let down. Of course the series has its ‘outstanding’ visual meritts but it lacks any real bonus materials, materials that were available on the American release of the series.

The reason for this is because MVM Entertainment opted to share the production costs with Hanabee and use their disc masters, at first this sounds like “reasearch babble” but Hanabee and Australian ratings board logos can be found on the discs themselves – and thats in addition to the UK Logos. What we get then is basically a very pretty but very basic release; the only extras are text less songs and a handful of music based trailers with nothing else to fill the void, however considering it was priced at under £20 (if not less) then its not too bad.

Accel World is a great series, its just a share it received a rather bare release (especially considering the extra features which are available on the American release), either way Accel World – Part 2 is now available within the UK on both Blu-ray and DVD.
