Ultimate Edition of Gurren Lagann Delayed Once Again; This Time Until October 2014

It seems like we will never get our hands on the ‘retail’ version of Gurren Lagann as today the UK Anime Distributor All The Anime revealed that the release of the Ultimate Blu-ray Edition of Gurren Lagann had been pushed back until the 20th October 2014.

According to the recent blog-post the reason for this ‘new’ delay is because the Disc Production company, in this case Sony DADC, has received a high production orders over the past few days and as such the printing of the retail Gurren Lagann discs have been pushed back so that the company can complete all of its orders.

Bad news folks! We really have a bad run of luck when it comes to delays and true to form as ever the final one has come from left field. Our printers have informed us (and everyone they work with) that they’re receiving abnormally high orders – in our case they’ve advised the initial usual turnaround period has an extra period added on.

We delivered on time for the usual quoted turnaround but due to this – we’ll receive stock in time for a release date of October 20th. We’re pretty much sobbing in the shower at this point over it but we’re pretty much at their mercy on this one – there are times you push and get results quicker, others where all you get are scowls and hurt feelings. Sadly this is clearly the latter having spoken to our replicators on it.

What this means is that the Ultimate Blu-ray Edition of Gurren Lagann will now be released on the 20th October 2014 as opposed to the previously announced 29th September 2014. Of course we should probably point out that this was completely out of All The Anime’s control and as such could have happened to anyone within the Entertainment industry.
