Unboxing: Dragon Ball Z: Season 2 (Blu-ray) [USA]

The legend never dies (especially when it arrives in cropped form), either way the second season of Dragon Ball Z on Blu-ray has arrived within America and today I’m going to take a look at it.
Just like the previous instalment Dragon Ball Z – Season 2 features around 30 episodes spanning the Namek and Frezia sagas of the series, each of which have been re-recorded and digitally restored within High Definition. Like it or lump it the HD Transfer that FUNimation has done is visually outstanding, especially when compared to previous DVD sets, and the only thing letting it down is the painful low audio quality on the Japanese track. This is to be expected, as no matter how hard you try the audio won’t improve (that much).
Either way in terms of the set itself then these 30 (or so) episodes are spread out across 4 Blu-ray discs and come housed in a standard amaray case with a carded sleeve. Basically other than the ‘different cover’ and ‘Season 2’ written on the side it’s exactly the same as the previous instalment. That being said there is some noteworthy mentions, for instance the front cover artwork matches up with Season 1 to offer a bigger picture, and on the spine their is ‘another’ square filled in, to highlight that this set is Season 2. It’s these little ‘attention to detail’ that give this release some character, even if the episodes contained are the same ones released several times over.
So what does Dragon Ball Z – Season 2 on Blu-ray offer, well it’s another collection of episodes re-mastered in High Definition and while it won’t seek approval from everyone it’s a great set in my book. Dragon Ball Z – Season 2 (on Blu-ray) is now available within America, meanwhile all nine seasons of Dragon Ball Z (orange brick sets) are currently available within the UK.
Since it’s region B will it work in Australian PS3?
Yes. Region B is the Region Code for Australia, UK and Europe; so anything labelled Region B will work on an Australian PS3.
