UK DVD Release of K-ON Season 2 Put ‘On-Hold’ Until Next Year

Over the past few days i’ve received a fair few e-mails enquiring about the upcoming UK DVD Release of K-ON Season 2, a release which was initally expected to be available next month, so i decided to do some digging.

After some digging around i noticed that several online retailers, including United Publications, Base, Amazon and Anime-On-Line all listed different release dates which led me to believe that the series had been ‘put-on-hold’ until further notice, and it seems like my assumptions were correct.

In turns out that Manga Entertainment UK had to ‘shelve’ this particular release due to the original licensor not wanting a complete series box-set to be released ‘outside’ of Japan at this current time.

As it stands the K-ON Complete Season 2 box set will be aiming for a 2015 release, but in the meantime the current ‘half-season’ sets are available within the UK, both of which we reviewed within the past year. Those wishing for a Blu-ray release of K-ON will also be waiting, as currently Manga Entertainment UK has plans of releasing the series on Blu-ray, however with the season 2 being delayed till next year anything can happen.

Is season 2 being released on blu ray over hear still a possibility??

    • Scott says:

It’s unlikely that a UK Blu-ray release of K-On! will surface; although ‘Region B’ versions of K-On! do exist as it was released in Australia. Both Season 1 and Season 2 are available on Blu-ray within Australia (which are same Region as UK).
