All The Anime’s debut Kickstarter Campaign for Mai Mai Miracle, a feature length film directed by Sunao Katabuchi, has managed to achieve its $30,000 target within 24 hours.
The $30,000 target set by All The Anime was to allow for the production and distribution of a Blu-ray and DVD version of the film, this includes packaging, translation and replication – everything major publishers (such as FUNimation) have to do before their product can be released. Of course now that the $30,000 target has been reached it means that anyone who pledges money to the project (or has already pledged) will receive their reward, rewards which range from a copy of the film on Blu-ray to exclusive artworks that are not available to the public.
Due to the success of the funding even director Sunao Katabuchi has left a message thanking everyone for supporting the project:
“A film is never complete until it has been viewed by an audience. The movie can only become truly completed once it’s in you. Because of your support this story about two young girls in a corner of Japan can now be seen worldwide. Thank you everyone! Thank you, Andrew!”
– Katabuchi Sunao
That’s not all, As with all Kickstarter Projects “stretch Goals” can be added, and All the Anime is no different as a stretch goal of $60,000 has been added to the project. This stretch goal, which is double of the initial goal, will allow All The Anime to create an English Dub Audio track for the film so that it can appeal to a more ‘wider’ audience. As it stands the All The Anime have not discussed what Dubbing Company would be used if this stretch goal is achieved, however it will be an American Dubbing company and the backers will have the final say on which Dubbing Group will do it.
The Mai Mai Miracle Kickstarter has currently achieved over $52,000 which means that the stretch goal of $60,000 is less than $8,000 so for those wanting a copy of the film, and hopefully in English, then i’d recommend pledging your support for it. The Mai Mai Miracle Kickstarter has 27 days remaining and any money donated will not be taken out until after the funding is completed, so will you be supporting the project? or have you already funded? Let us know!
Pledged! I’ve been so happy with Anime Limited’s previous releases, I can’t wait to see this new feature.
