Quick Look: Bleach – Series 12 Part 2

It’s time for another “quick look” at an upcoming anime release and this time it’s the second part of Series 12 of Bleach (i.e. Series 12 Part 2), and just like with the previous instalment it is being distributed into the UK by Manga UK on behalf of Kaze.

Bleach Series 12 Part 2 continues the destructive story of the Zanpakut Battles within the Seireitei, whereby the latest enemy threat is revealed as Muramasa, an enemy that is controlling the Soul Reapers Zanpakut’s and using them to attack everyone within the Seireitei. With this confusion between the Soul Reapers and their Zankpakut, Muramasa attempts to put his ‘true’ plan into motion, with Ichigo being the key to his success. It is a decisive storyline that provides plenty of action with a lot of familiar and unfamiliar faces.

Storyline aside for the moment these Bleach DVD’s mimic the content seen on the previous “Series 12 Part 1” release, such as five episodes per disc and a bonus Opening / Ending sequence per disc with both English & Japanese (with English Subtitles) options available from the disc menu. Just like with all Kaze releases there are trailers before the DVD menu, in this case both discs have trailers for Penguindrum and Bleach: Hell Verse – both of which have been used multiple times across Kaze releases.

Bleach – Series 12 Part 2 is as you would expect it to be, a collection of episodes that continue the story of the ‘Bleach’ saga, in this case the storyline of Muramasa and his attack on the Seireitei, with ‘some’ extras thrown in for good measure. If you haven’t watched Bleach from the start then their isn’t much point picking this release up, but the Zanpakut storyline is pretty cool.

Bleach – Series 12 Part 2 will be available on DVD from the 23rd December 2013.
