Manga Entertainment UK, along with the publicity firm Fetch Publicity, have today announced that Mamoru Hosoda’s feature-length-animated-film The Wolf Children (also known as The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki) will be getting a theatrical release in cinemas across the UK.
At current its not entirely clear what cinemas will be showing it, however according to the Launching Films website the film will be shown in ‘major cinemas’ across the UK, which suggests that it will be a limited run within the usual locations, such as London, Glasgow, Edinburgh etc. However a full list will become available in the future.
In the meantime for those unaware of The Wolf Children it is a feature-length-animated-film directed by Mamoru Hosoda that see’s Hana falling in love with a Wolf Man, however after giving birth to his children the Wolf Man’s dies and Hana is left with taking care of the children, from here Hana decides to move to a rural town to continue raising her two wolf children Ame and Yuki. In short The Wolf Children is a heart-warming tale of love, family bonds and friendship and it shows that being ‘different’ to everyone else isn’t anything to be ashamed of.
The Wolf Children will be available in Cinemas on the 25th October 2013, alternatively the film itself will be available on Blu-ray and DVD from the 23rd December 2013, which makes it the perfect (last minute) gift for Christmas.
