MVM Entertainment have today announced, via Twitter, that they will be releasing the anime classic FLCL onto Blu-ray later this year.

MVM Entertainment currently releases FLCL on DVD and ever since FUNimation released their Blu-ray version of the series many fans have been asking for it to be released in the UK, and now that wish has come true.

For those unaware FLCL, also known as Fooly Cooly, is a six episode OVA series produced by Production I.G. and Gainax that mixes comedy, sci-fi and action. The series itself follows Naota who, after getting hit by Haruko on her motorscooter, is thrown into a world of trouble and  incredibly weird scenarios.

FLCL will be available on Blu-ray during October 2013, with exact details (such as pricing and specs) to be confirmed at a later date, but it’s currently safe to assume that this UK Release will feature the same content as the US and Australian Blu-ray releases.
